If you are getting non-stop abusive and harassing phone calls from debt collectors, this can make you feel trapped. Often, collectors will treat you with disrespect when you tell them that you cannot afford to pay, although you would like nothing more than to be able to pay the debts you owe. Instead of trying to work with you to create a payment plan you can afford, sometimes these collectors turn aggressive, speaking to you abusively, rudely and offensively. These abusive calls can make you feel like you have hit a brick wall and that you have no way out.

Too often, creditors and debt collectors resort to intimidating and abusive tactics, including constant telephone calls where they contact not only the consumer, but also the consumer's family, friends, neighbors, and even the consumer's employers. Not only do collectors contact family and supervisors of consumers, collectors also threaten them and tell them about the consumer's alleged debt.

We know the illegal tactics used by debt collectors. We use federal and Texas law to help stop the collection phone calls. We can help you break free of feeling like you are trapped by debt collectors.

You deserve to be treated with respect. No collection agency has the right to constantly chase you down with harassing calls or threaten you. The FDCPA protects you whether you owe the money, don't owe the money or if they are harassing you about someone else's debt. Many debt collectors intentionally use their abusive tactics to overwhelm you with fear and anxiety. These calls and tactics can leave you feeling embarrassed that you cannot afford to pay, guilty for not making payment and full of anxiety about the calls you are likely to receive again from this collector. It seems like this is a never ending cycle.

The lawyers of The Larson Law Office understand how you feel. We are here to help. Do not be embarrassed about calling us about the debt collection calls – we understand your situation. We are not here to judge you – we are only here to help get you relief from law breaking debt collectors and their abusive tactics. Call us for a Free Consultation and we will explain your rights, determine if the bill collectors are violating the law and consult with you about your case.

We Sue Abusive Debt Collectors.

The law is clear: Consumers have protections from intimidating, harassing and abusive debt collection tactics. Federal law requires debt collectors are required to follow the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). There are legal ways to collect a debt and illegal ways to collect a debt. Unfortunately, many collectors choose the illegal way and operate as if there are no limits and no laws that restrict their conduct.

If debt collectors break this federal law, you can sue them for money damages of up to $1,000, any actual damages you experienced as a result of the debt collector's actions, reasonable attorneys' fees and court costs.
